No. 5 Prebbleton Green
Complete Projects provided architectural design and development support services for No. 5 Prebbleton Green, a contemporary four-bedroom residence forming part of a wider residential subdivision development in Prebbleton, Canterbury.
Working alongside the developer from the early planning stages, Complete Projects assisted not only with the design of the individual residence, but also with the broader subdivision coordination, consultant management, and early-stage development planning required to help progress the wider project efficiently. Our involvement included assisting in bringing together the consultant team and supporting the subdivision process prior to detailed residential design commencing.
No. 5 Prebbleton Green was specifically designed to contribute to the architectural diversity of the subdivision, with the wider development intentionally avoiding repeated house designs to create a more varied and visually engaging streetscape. Positioned on a prominent corner site with dual road frontages, the home was carefully planned to respond to multiple public interfaces while maintaining strong privacy, functionality, and street presence.
The architectural design combines contemporary forms and materials with practical family-focused planning. Key features include expansive open-plan living spaces, a large double-height stair and lobby void, a separate scullery, and carefully integrated indoor-outdoor connections designed to support modern family lifestyles and entertaining.
The corner site configuration provided both opportunities and challenges throughout the design process, requiring careful consideration of orientation, façade composition, access, and landscaping to ensure the home responded appropriately to both street frontages while maintaining a cohesive architectural identity.
Complete Projects guided the project through concept design, developed design, and building consent documentation, coordinating structural and geotechnical consultants while assisting surveyors, planners, and civil engineers with information required to support subdivision and resource consent approvals.
A key component of the project involved aligning the residential design programme with subdivision consent approvals and subsequent engineering acceptance of civil works. This coordination was critical in enabling the developer to move efficiently into construction while maintaining momentum across the wider staged development.
The completed design provides a modern and market-ready family home that supports the developer’s construction and sales objectives while contributing to the overall character and quality of the subdivision.
This project demonstrates Complete Projects’ ability to provide integrated support for residential developers – combining architectural design, consultant coordination, and practical development planning to help move projects efficiently from subdivision through to construction-ready outcomes.
