Hutchison Residence
Complete Projects provided full architectural design services for the Hutchison Residence, replacing an ageing waterfront bach with a carefully considered new home designed to maximise the exceptional South Bay coastal outlook.
Working closely with the clients from the early concept stage, our team developed a bespoke residential design that responded to both the site constraints and the opportunities presented by the prominent waterfront location. The project involved full design development through to building consent documentation, including coordination of specialist consultants throughout the process.
The property presented several unique challenges, including its classification as an archaeologically significant site and strict building height limitations intended to protect viewshafts for neighbouring properties behind. Careful planning and detailing of the structural design was required to maintain a low-profile form while still delivering a spacious and functional modern home.
Complete Projects coordinated the wider consultant team, including structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, and archaeological inputs, helping guide the clients through the full design and approval process from concept to consent.
The completed residence delivers a significantly enhanced living environment that makes full use of the spectacular coastal setting, while remaining sensitive to the surrounding environment and planning constraints.
