Farm House Refurbishment

DESCRIPTION

We were engaged by our offshore client to fully refurbish the dated and tired farm manager’s house on their new rural property. Our role as main contractor involved quantifying and pricing the works required, then issuing a lump sum price and program to the client for approval.

The scope of works included removing asbestos and replacing the roof, linings, insulation, windows, bathrooms, and kitchen, as well as the flooring, log burner, heat pump, electrical, and plumbing components. Additionally, we arranged access equipment and removal of plants and trees to facilitate window replacement, painting, and cladding repair.

On approval from the client, we booked in and co-ordinated the sub-contractors to complete the required works, including arranging accommodation and travel allowances due to the site’s remote location. Throughout the project, we provided fortnightly updates to the client through Zoom and online document sharing, and upon completion, presented a before and after report.

The result is a fully refurbished house, with a significant improvement from its original 1970s condition.
