We were engaged to provide project management and contract engineering services for a high-risk job involving the replacement of the north roof at Summit Steel. We managed the entire project, from detailing the brief to procuring quotes, setting the budget, and drafting and executing a construction contract.
Given the sensitive nature of the tenant’s operations, which involved 24/7 use of machinery, we coordinated closely with the contractors to provide a program that allowed for safe delivery of the works, while ensuring the tenant’s operations were not disrupted. This included encasing machines in scaffolds and dust protection, so they could still operate at full capacity, and engaging a full-time spotter to manage the flow of heavy vehicles in the vicinity of the contractors and crane.
Despite the numerous hazards and conflicting requirements, our expertise and vigilance ensured the project was completed efficiently and safely.
